Store Policies
All new Seller/Consignor accounts require a one time, $6 setup fee.
Sellers/Consignors are responsible for updating account contact information.
We will do our best to safeguard your items, but we are not responsible for damage or loss.
Items must be authentic. Furthermore, no recalled items may be sold or consigned. If your item is determined to be recalled or inauthentic, your account will incur a $5 fee per item.
After one year of inactivity, inactive accounts will be closed. Any unsold inventory or remaining balance will become property of Gather Downtown. “Activity” includes selling an item, logging a purchase, logging a drop off, or using account credit.
Sellers/Consignors must be at least 18 years old and have a valid government-issued ID.
Drop Off Procedure for BOR (Buy Outright)
We will presort each drop-off, while you remain in store. This is first-come, first-serve. This takes about 10-15 minutes once we start your drop off. You are allowed one drop off per household per day.
We can take 30 limited items and unlimited other items. Once we have taken our daily storewide maximum, we will only be able to presort your items for a later drop off.
After your presort is complete, we will collect your contact information and send your items down to our processor to research and price each item.
Once we are finished processing your drop off, we will send you a text with your offer in CASH or STORE CREDIT (10% bonus). You must respond with your choice of cash or store credit BEFORE you come back into the store so we can have your offer ready when you get here.
BOR Procedures
From your drop-off, we’ve selected items for further processing. We call this a presort.
After our presort is finished and you’ve left, Gather Downtown will continue to inspect and price your items in preparation to make you an offer. We strive to process your items the same day you bring it in.
When your drop-off is completely processed, you’ll receive a text message to the cell phone number provided. The text will be:
Confirming the completion of your ‘buy’
Stating your dollar amount offer for your ‘buy’
Requiring a response to accept or deny your offer
Sellers can opt out of promotional text messages but cannot opt out of text messages regarding their drop-offs.
Accepting or denying your offer
To accept your offer, simply respond to the text with the phrase ‘ACCEPT CASH” or “ACCEPT STORE CREDIT” (we will automatically offer both options).
Your cash offer will be prepared instantly. You have 72 hours to pick up your cash or it will be converted to consignor credit. If you chose the store credit bonus, then you do not need to come back in.
After either option is accepted, all items become property of Gather Downtown.
To deny your offer, simply respond to the text with the word ‘DENY’
Your drop-off will be noted for pickup. You’ll have 3 business days to return to the store and collect your drop-off.
If your drop-off is not picked up within 3 business days of the offer being SENT, that drop off becomes property of Gather Downtown.
If we do not get a response from you (your offer is not accepted or denied) within 3 business days of the offer being SENT, that drop-off becomes property of Gather Downtown. The policy stands firm regardless of whether you receive a text message or not. We strive to make offers the same day that you drop off, so please contact us if you have not heard anything by day 2!
Picking up unchosen items
Sellers should return to the store within 72 hours of dropping off to pick up any unchosen items. Please check current business hours.
When your drop-off is complete, we will send a courtesy text message to the cell phone number provided. The pickup policy stands firm regardless of whether they receive a text message or not.
Sellers can opt out of promotional text messages but cannot opt out of text messages regarding their consignment drop off.
If unchosen items are not picked up within 72 hours of notification, Gather Downtown has the right to donate the items.
